Our Director:Will Fox
With weekly practices resuming, Will Fox to lead acapella barbershop members to 2021 performances throughout Willamette Valley.
With members from nearly every part of Clackamas and Marion counties, Oregon SenateAires is celebrating its 62nd year as a community service organization showcasing distinctive barbershop harmonies. Their Americana-style quartets and chorus members together account for nearly 1,000 years of music experience and have placed with highest honors in district, national and international competitions for delivering finely executed music.
Congressman Kurt Schrader — a follower of the chorus with members from Lake Oswego, Tigard, Canby, Oregon City, West Linn and Happy Valley — has commented on the chorus "putting Oregon on the map." Other leaders, like Salem's Mayor Chuck Bennett, have supported the chorus's efforts to "do distinctive things and go places not gone before" with its unique Harmony on the Water program aboard Salem's Willamette Queen.
"Such efforts will continue and we intend to celebrate our seniors as well, by performing at their assisted and special care facilities," Fox said.
Fox teaches at Tigard's Westside Christian High School, whose choir he's led to win statewide competitions. As a professional music educator, Fox provides private teaching in voice, piano and guitar. He also serves on the board of the Oregon's chapter of the American Choral Directors Association, and has served in various capacities for America's Barbershop Harmony Society.
"We welcome this highly skilled professional to our organization and look forward to his leadership as we serve our communities and Oregon," Oregon SenateAires President Scott Chatten said.
After canceling all its events starting March 2020, the chorus is now recruiting new participants and has recently begun practicing weekly. Those interested in getting involved with the chorus can contact the Membership Team at membership@senateaires.org or by calling 971-208-7135.
